Blown Fibre Insulation

Blown fibre is an effective type of loft insulation that is blown using special equipment into lofts and attics in order to create a fluffy layer of insulation that traps air and prevents heat transfer in your home.

Usually made from small loose fibres that consist of a variety of materials including fibreglass, cellulose or rock wool, it is an effective, and relatively cost friendly way to provide good thermal insulation and improve your homes energy efficiency. It does however have to be installed by professionals, and can’t be done yourself.

Insulating your home can reduce your energy costs and your carbon emissions. Around 25% of all lost energy in your home is lost through the ceiling thanks to the fact that heat rises. Adding loft insulation will also have the added benefit of increasing your EPC rating which will have a positive impact on your home’s value.
