LG have been researching solar for over two decades and have been producing solar panels themselves since 2010, and proudly been of the worlds best manufacturers ever since.
All LG panels are produced at in-house manufacturing facilities in places like Alabama and Gumi, South Korea. The Alabama facility alone has the capacity to produce enough solar panels for over 91, 000 homes each year.
Unfortunately, LG announced that from the end of June 2022 they will no longer be producing solar panels. They stated that they have made their decision based on “uncertainties in the global solar panel business” that include rising material costs and price competition.
The good news is that there are lots of great solar panel manufacturers in the UK who are still in the always competitive solar market. Companies like Canadian Solar, Trina Solar, Panasonic, and Tesla are all leading the way in the UK solar market, delivering competition and diversity for consumers across the country.
